Eric Stenman

President and Chief Executive Officer, US

Relentless Ally since 2001

Eric Stenman serves as Balfour Beatty US’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Under his leadership, the company has achieved the leverage and scale of national capabilities, operational excellence standards, team growth and development and industry innovation.

In his current role, Eric is directly responsible for more than $5 billion in revenue and more than 5,000 employees throughout the U.S. In more than 40 years in the construction industry, Eric has established a proven track record of leading teams across all departments to drive managed growth, shareholder value and employee experience.

Eric began his career in construction with boots on the ground as a plumbing contractor. He owned his own business and later became a general contractor while putting himself through college and law school.

His tenure with Balfour Beatty began in 2001, and since that time, he has served in many leadership roles including Division President, Chief Enterprise Development Officer, Regional CEO and Chief Operations Officer. 

Eric has served at the state and national levels of the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), having chaired the National Contract Documents Forum and the Building Division for AGC America, and served as President of AGC San Diego. As a testament to his inspirational leadership, Eric was recognized by the San Diego Business Journal as a “CEO of the Year” in 2024, “Most Admired CEO” in 2014 and one of the “Most Influential People in San Diego” in 2022.

Kevin Jolin

Managing Director, US Rail

Relentless Ally since 2023

Kevin Jolin is a trusted and respected business leader with more than 20 years of experience spanning technical and program management, systems integration, operations, business development and product support. As the managing director for Balfour Beatty’s US Rail operations, Kevin leads complex infrastructure programs with a focus on operational excellence, collaborative leadership and quality execution.

Since joining Balfour Beatty, Kevin has been a major contributor to the successful completion of the system, traction power and SCADA packages for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority Green Line Extension and the notable Los Angeles International Airport’s (LAX) Automated People Mover (APM), where he serves as technical advisor. On the Caltrain Design-Build Electrification project, his leadership has been instrumental in the successful interconnection, testing and commissioning of 38 electrical facilities across a 52-mile corridor, including substations, switching stations and wayside power cabinets. In addition, Kevin also provides organizational support for Balfour Beatty’s Total Power Group manufacturing operation.

A former U.S. Marine, Kevin brings discipline, focus and strategic insight to every engagement. He is deeply committed to team development, organizational ethics and continuous improvement.

Kevin is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at Arizona State University and holds additional academic credentials in business management and electrical engineering technology. He is an active member of the Project Management Institute and the International Council on Systems Engineering.

Mark Konchar

President, US Infrastructure

Mark is a driving force for progress, leading US Infrastructure operations with an unwavering commitment to excellence. As president, he manages projects that are essential for modern life: highways and bridges in aiding transportation; water infrastructure in guaranteeing access to clean resources; vital electrification systems in powering opportunities; and advanced rail networks in connecting people across America.

Since 1999, Mark has been instrumental in the success of Balfour Beatty. In his prior positions as managing director of US Rail operations as well as across procurement and project delivery, he’s nurtured strong relationships with clients, partners and team members on renowned projects such as Los Angeles International Airport's Automated People Mover, Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority's Green Line Extension, Caltrain’s Electrification program and numerous Federal & Healthcare developments, including the Pentagon Memorial.

Mark is a true team player who demonstrates Balfour Beatty's people-first culture daily. He always applies an innovative approach to complex issues and excels at motivating others in his workplace and beyond. In addition, Mark contributes to advancing our professional development programs by leveraging his experience and passion for learning and serves as a Pillar Member of Bridges to Prosperity - one of the most renowned industry partners and a nonprofit international mission dedicated to building footbridges across the world.

With a bachelor's and doctorate degree in architectural engineering from Penn State University, Mark brings decades of experience to the table. He has been integral in research projects that have pushed industry standards forward and authoring several articles and reports like his co-authorship on "Selecting Project Delivery Systems" and “Change Your Space, Change Your Culture.”

Sonya Roberts

Vice President, Human Resources, US Infrastructure

Relentless Ally since 2000

Sonya Roberts is vice president of human resources, overseeing human resources functions for Balfour Beatty's U.S. Infrastructure operations. Additionally she serves on the Infrastructure executive leadership team as well as Balfour Beatty's national human resources leadership team.

Sonya joined Balfour Beatty in 2000 as a generalist and human resources partner for Balfour Beatty’s Infrastructure and Rail businesses, having responsibility for all human resources-related services for nearly 4,000 staff and craft employees. Since then, she has served in various human resource roles with progressively more responsibility overseeing efforts that have resulted in more effective and streamlined workflow processes, technology automation and acquisition due diligence.

As a steward of the company’s people-first culture, she has also championed national initiatives to improve diversity, inclusion, pay equity, allyship, mentorship and rewards at Balfour Beatty.

Sonya is a passionate community service leader where she serves as a member of various nonprofit, professional and civic organizations including Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc.’s North Atlanta Chapter, American Businesswomen’s Association (ABWA), Junior League of Atlanta, Shared Hope International and Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.

She is a graduate of South Carolina State University from which she earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology.
