Dennis Kuykendall joined Balfour Beatty in 2005 as senior project manager. In the years since, he has increasingly taken on new responsibilities being elevated to project executive. With 25 years of industry experience, Dennis has successfully managed complex, multi-million dollar projects, primarily in the K-12, civic and healthcare market sectors.

With a wealth of experience and a strong background in the construction industry, Don is a seasoned Operations Director at Balfour Beatty. Known for his exceptional leadership skills and strategic mindset, Don has successfully overseen and delivered complex projects on time and within budget. His expertise in optimizing operational efficiency, managing cross-functional teams, and ensuring quality control has consistently resulted in the successful execution of construction initiatives for Balfour Beatty.

Emily Kay has been with Balfour Beatty for 10 years and has more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry. She started her career in the trenches on jobsites as a formwork carpenter in Nebraska before becoming a field engineer and prior to joining Balfour Beatty she was a senior construction administrator for more than 10 years.

Emily has held various operations positions at Balfour Beatty where she leads teams in providing operational excellence through deliveries of county facilities, and K-12 additions, summer modernizations and new construction projects for the Torrance, Culver City, El Segundo, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach communities. She also spearheaded the expansion of Balfour Beatty’s special projects operations in the Los Angeles area where the company provides services for a wide variety of market sectors.

Her passion for construction and the success of the company spreads beyond the jobsite where she has been involved in several company initiatives including co-managing Balfour Beatty’s cultural framework and being actively involved in the Connecting Women employee affinity group. Emily has also been recognized by Los Angeles Business Journal as one of the top Outstanding Women in Design and Construction.

Emily is a graduate of the University of Nebraska and holds a bachelor’s degree in construction management with an emphasis on business management.

John Baradin is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) bringing more than 20 years of experience to his role. He is a U.S. Veteran and has worked in various industries including petrochemical, medical, aviation, and construction on projects with a cumulative value of over $1 billion.  His oversight includes projects located throughout California and Arizona.

John Bernardy brings three decades of experience to his position in which he is responsible for Orange County, Los Angeles, and Ventura operations and business development. John’s expertise in the K-12 and higher education markets has been instrumental in the successful completion of hundreds of school projects throughout the region.
