Women in Construction Week 2026

WIC Week 2026 - Connection

This week, we join with the National Association of Women in Construction and our industry partners in celebrating Women in Construction Week! Uniting under the theme “Power of Connection,” our teammates are reflecting on the ways that others have helped shape their unique journeys, and how they can be that connection for someone else.

North Texas team runs 5K raising money for education initiatives

Our North Texas teammates were proud to once again take part in the Form Follows Fitness 5K, running through some of Dallas’ most iconic neighborhoods while taking in the city’s stunning skyline and award‑winning architecture.

Proceeds from the race benefit The Architecture and Design Exchange, which fosters access to architecture and design for all through public programs, K–12 educational initiatives and scholarships that inspire and support the next generation of architects and designers.

What a weekend!

Teammates from different geographies and business lines gathered in Sparks, Nevada over the weekend to support the amazing students in the Associated Schools of Construction Region 6 & 7 Student Competition and Construction Management Conference. This event brought together students from schools in the far west and rocky mountain regions to compete in construction management problem categories, including heavy civil, commercial, mixed use and design-build.

Our teammates were involved in every aspect of the event, from coaching student teams from California State University, Northridge, UC San Diego, Oregon State University, Washington State University and University of Washington to giving attendees a break in a sponsored hospitality suite to recruiting the next generation of construction professionals at the job fair. This was an incredible opportunity to support the future of our industry and we were honored to be part of this event!

Balfour Beatty Recognizes Live Traffic as Fifth Fatal Risk in Construction

To lead the industry and make our work zones safer, Balfour Beatty has launched a new initiative to recognize live traffic as a fifth fatal risk in construction. This expands beyond OSHA's long-established and well-entrenched Fatal/Focus Four hazards in our industry. Balfour Beatty’s initiative acknowledges the uniquely deadly and debilitating hazards posed by vehicles traveling through work zones and underscores our commitment to eliminating live traffic risks to our workforce and the public. Watch our teammates describe their raw and emotional experiences working in and around live traffic and join our efforts to eliminate live traffic risks so everyone goes home safely each day.
