Balfour Beatty is launching its “STEP Back for Safety” Construction Safety Week 2020 campaign as part of its never-ending Zero Harm commitment to anyone coming in contact with its work.

The Dallas Business Journal (DBJ) names Balfour Beatty’s US Buildings team as an honoree for its 18th Annual Best Places to Work Awards in the large company category. The annual survey and awards program honors North Texas’ leading employers for their commitment to employee engagement and satisfaction.

Balfour Beatty has been recognized by The Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Florida, First Coast Chapter with its “Project of the Year” and Eagle Award in the institutional $25 million to $100 million category for the recent completion of Jacksonville Transportation Authority’s (JTA), Jacksonville Regional Transportation Center (JRTC) at LaVilla.

The Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) has recognized Howard S. Wright, a Balfour Beatty company, with two 2020 Design-Build Project/Team National Merit Awards for the Bellevue College Student Success Center and King County Children and Family Justice Center Phase 1A projects.

Balfour Beatty’s US Civils team safely achieves more than four million hours without a lost time incident in the southeast operating region. This safety milestone and record celebrates five years of safely delivering construction projects and the company’s commitment to its Zero Harm culture to protect the safety and well-being of project teams, trade partners and the public.

“The Hub,” Alaska Airlines’ new 128,000-square-foot corporate office by general contractor Howard S. Wright, a Balfour Beatty company, recently opened in SeaTac. The six-story building will accommodate approximately 600 employees and houses the Seattle-based airline’s 24/7 operations facility and other business functions for the West Coast’s largest carrier.
