Safety Week 2024: Balfour Beatty Commits to Going Beyond Zero Harm

by Balfour Beatty

Every year, Balfour Beatty joins our industry partners and peers in recognizing National Construction Safety Week and promoting the industry’s dedication to eliminating worker risk and injury. From May 6 – 10, Balfour Beatty is observing Safety Week and discussing how we can take our commitment to safety to the next level.

Critical safety decisions happen on and off the jobsite. This year, Balfour Beatty’s safety theme is “Beyond Zero Harm,” which encourages employees to embrace safety as a lifestyle, culture and mindset – one that extends beyond the fence of the worksite.

“Our highly successful Zero Harm initiative has made safety a cornerstone of our business – it has given us a license to operate,” says Senior Vice President, Safety and Sustainability Richard Ryan. “This year, with our theme Beyond Zero Harm, we are reaching beyond the confines of our jobs and embracing safety as it permeates the fabric of our families, homes and communities.”

During Safety Week, Balfour Beatty teammates are engaging with safety leaders across the business as they discuss our commitment to Zero Harm and explore how we can create a safety culture that is not only effective on our jobsites but also resonates in our daily lives.

Balfour Beatty jobsites will also observe Safety Week through safety stand downs, project-specific safety presentations, collaborative discussions and more. Follow us on Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram to check out our teams’ participation in Safety Week and learn how we are fostering a safety-first culture as we build new futures in our communities.
