Balfour Beatty Celebrates National Women in Construction Week

by Balfour Beatty

This week, Balfour Beatty joins the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) and our industry partners in celebrating Women in Construction Week. United by the mission of “Empowering Our Women,” our teams will engage in conversations about the importance of mentoring and career development for women in construction.

Throughout the week, we will facilitate discussions on critical topics such as paving the way for career growth, creating paths for the next generation of women in construction, and strategies for attaining healthy work/life balance. Since our Connecting Women employee affinity group’s inception in 2015, the group has encouraged the advancement of women in construction by providing opportunities for career development and addressing the barriers women in the industry encounter. Together, Connecting Women is:

     • Shining a light on the challenges women in construction may face and successful strategies to overcome them

     • Inspiring professional development by showcasing women in leadership roles and creating opportunities for women to connect on career prospects and professional growth

     • Encouraging interest in construction industry careers for the next generation by partnering with organizations like NAWIC, Girls on the Run, Give Kids the World, Habitat for               Humanity and more

This week and always, we celebrate the contributions Balfour Beatty women make across our company, the construction industry and the communities in which we live, work and play. Read more about:
