    Project Background:

Pine + Minor Apartments – Seattle, WA
Pine + Minor is a LEED Platinum $19.4 million, 89,800-square-foot urban mixed-use project that includes seven stories of 120 residential units, 3,000 square feet of retail space, a 28-stall below grade parking garage,  a secure bicycle storage room, lounge, and other amenities. The building is built on a cast-in-place, post-tensioned, concrete podium with 5 levels of wood framing above. Many innovative, eco-friendly design solutions were incorporated into the project such as a high efficiency façade (rain screen, reflective glazing, and insulation) with vertical shades on west façade, a real-time web-based energy monitoring system, and green roof. Pine + Minor Apartments was built in partnership with Gerding Edlen, project owner, and Perkins + Will, architect.

In addition, roof, sheet metal, and Kalwall work were completed on the existing school. The front street of the campus was also re-routed to provide better flow for the buses, students, and faculty. The total project duration was approximately 16 months. The FGHS expansion project was built in partnership with Forest Grove High School District, project owner, and Mahlum Architects.
