Houston, TX - Balfour Beatty Construction’s Dawn Landry has been recognized by the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce (GHWCC) as one of its 2015 Breakthrough Women. As vice president of business development for Balfour Beatty Construction’s Houston Division, Landry was recognized among a select group of Houston women who were honored for their outstanding professional achievements and contributions to the community as leaders.
Landry was recognized at the recent annual GHWCC 2015 Greater Houston “No Limits” Conference for Women. In her role at Balfour Beatty Construction, Landry helps drive the company’s development of new business opportunities in the commercial, institutional, healthcare, aviation, municipal, and multifamily markets. This includes the pursuit of growth opportunities, enhancement of the company’s brand in the Houston market, and the implementation of a comprehensive community and civic relations program.
“This recognition by the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce is a great testament to Dawn’s vision, high standards, and accomplishments in the community and for our company,” said Steve Mechler, president of Balfour Beatty Construction’s Houston Division. “Always a relentless ally for our clients and teams, Dawn has played an important role in helping drive our growth and success in Houston.”
Landry began her career more than 23 years ago, with experience in business development, marketing, public relations, and economic development.  She has worked throughout Houston for over 13 years, with her initial role being in economic development at the Greater Houston Partnership (GHP). Upon her departure from the GHP in 2006, Landry’s career in the construction and engineering industry began. Since that time, she has been a part of the successful business development advancement of many high-profile, new iconic buildings throughout the region totaling several billions of dollars’ worth of construction.
The GHWCC 2015 Breakthrough Women will be featured in vignettes shown on Houston Public Media throughout the remainder of the year.
