John has been in the heavy civil construction industry for more than 40 years, nearly 30 years of which has been spent with Balfour Beatty. He is a 1981 graduate of Purdue University and a registered professional engineer in Texas.
Throughout his long career at Balfour Beatty, John has held various roles, including director of construction on the $1B State Highway 130 project in Austin, one of the company's first design-build projects, and at the time, one of the largest design-build projects in the United States. As southwest regional manager, he oversaw the delivery of the $425M State Highway161 project, the $798M Dallas Horseshoe project, the $582M US 183 South project in Austin, as well as the ongoing $625M Southern Gateway and $1.7B I-635 East projects in Dallas and the $677M Oak Hill Parkway project in Austin. In addition to design-build projects, John has also overseen multiple design-bid-build projects throughout Texas.
