  13. Balfour Beatty Construction Completes MV-22 Double Hangar Project at Marine Corps Air Station, Camp Pendleton

    March 21, 2016
    Balfour Beatty Construction has completed the $38 million design-build MV-22 Double Hangar project located at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS), Camp Pendleton in California. The two maintenance hangars each accommodate six MV-22 Osprey, which are tiltrotor military aircraft and the primary assault support aircraft for the U.S. Marine Corps.

    March 14, 2016 Balfour Beatty Construction announces the completion of the $32 million Pacific Trails Middle School for the San Dieguito Union High School District. The 74,200-square-foot middle school project includes the construction of six buildings, landscaping and site improvements. The buildings include a two-story, 22-room classroom building, administration building, gymnasium, food service building, library/media arts building, and a multi-purpose art and music building.

    March 11, 2016 The Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce has recognized Cornish College of the Arts’ new 20-story Cornish Commons high-rise residence hall as its 2015 “Building of the Year”. Wright, a Balfour Beatty company, in the summer of 2015, Cornish Commons is the school’s first ground-up project since 1921 and allows students to live, learn, create, and play within steps of other campus facilities in South Lake Union in Seattle.

    July 22, 2015 WASHINGTON – The JBG Companies has selected Balfour Beatty Construction to build its latest project in Washington D.C.’s vibrant U Street corridor. Named 13|U, the new mixed-use project will feature 129 residential units, 15,750 square feet of retail and 48 below-grade parking spaces near the U Street/Cardozo Metro station. Balfour Beatty is providing construction manager at risk services for the new development and began demolition of the existing building in June.

  52. Balfour Beatty Construction Awarded Design-build Contract for New Correctional Facility for Kern County

    April 28, 2015 SAN DIEGO – Kern County has selected Balfour Beatty Construction to design and construct a new $100.5 million addition to the Kern County Justice Facility located in Bakersfield, Calif. The 215,000-square-foot facility is expected to create 350 to 400 jobs for the local community, including a contractual target goal to subcontract 25 percent of design and construction services to local businesses with 35 percent of the labor supplied by local workers. The project team will leverage lean construction practices and the latest technologies to efficiently deliver the facility.

The LEED Platinum EGWW Federal Building is owned by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) and was constructed by Howard S. Wright, a Balfour Beatty company. The project architect is SERA Architects and the design excellence architect is Cutler Anderson Architects.

    June 07, 2013 On June 6, the nation’s 4th largest general construction contractor celebrated a milestone achievement at Ft. Bliss Army Installation. Since the late 1990’s, Balfour Beatty Construction has established one of the largest inventory of completed privatized military housing in the country and is paying tribute to their 10,000th unit which has been turned over at Ft.
