Balfour Beatty Construction names new Vice President of Human Resources

Rick Smith(DALLAS) - Balfour Beatty Construction announced today the return of Rick Smith as Vice President of Human Resources. Rick previously served as Director of Human Resources for Balfour Beatty Construction from 2009 through 2011.

“I am excited to have Rick rejoin our HR team to lead the development and implementation of national programs which provide a consistent and superior employee proposition,” said Richard Jaggers, Chief Financial Officer of Balfour Beatty Construction.

With more than sixteen years of experience across a broad range of HR areas, Smith brings an extensive knowledge of policies, employee engagement, performance management and strategic compensation and benefits to his position.  

In his new role, Smith will be a key resource in assessing and strengthening the company’s national employee experience programs and policies. He will also partner with existing HR and Benefits team members to manage national benefits and employee compensation programs.

Prior to joining Balfour Beatty Construction, Smith served as Vice President of Human Resources Shared Services with Rexel Holdings USA, where he was responsible for all HR policies, rewards, compensation, benefits, payroll, HR administration and all HR technology across the company.  Smith has also held senior HR leadership positions with Atrium Companies and NEC America.

Smith holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Troy University, and a MBA from Texas Christian University.
