Balfour Beatty Construction installs the first of its kind net-zero classroom buildings for Oak Park Unified School District

In collaboration with the Oak Park Unified School District, Balfour Beatty Construction installed seven net-zero modular classroom buildings made of single use containers used for ocean shipping at Oak Park High School. The project marks the first use of this type of modular building approved by the California Division of State Architect.

This event was attended by more than 900 guests and raised a record breaking $110,000.00 for local charities.

The $36.4 million project includes the design and construction of a 65,000 square-foot building that will house a food service facility, bookstore, and stockroom that will serve the entire Mesa College Campus.

Balfour Beatty, an infrastructure group operating in construction services, professional services, support services and infrastructure investments, announced it has been selected to develop a new student housing project at Texas A&M University’s main campus in College Station, Texas. Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions, a developer and operator of infrastructure projects for the college and university market, is the lead developer on the privately financed project, which is expected to cost in excess of $200 million. Balfour Beatty Construction, based in Dallas, is the construction partner on the project.
