Brad serves as Barnhart’s corporate BIM manager, leading a six-person BIM team and overseeing BIM services on projects valued at over $100 million in the education and military sectors.

“I’m thrilled to play a key role in supporting and guiding this prominent industry association,” said Brad, who recently helped DBIA define a BIM contract standard to clarify roles and responsibilities for project stakeholders on design-build projects.

“BIM allows for the virtual construction to become the actual construction,” said Hardin. “This helps all project team members better envision a future building and its design before the first spade of dirt is turned. BIM technology is changing the landscape of the construction industry, and I’m excited to be a part of that.”

“Brad’s selection is a testament to his mastery of cutting-edge BIM technology, which is used to avoid costly conflicts before the start of construction,” said Eric Stenman, president of Barnhart Balfour Beatty. “As a leading author of BIM textbooks, he continues to set the bar higher for everyone in our industry.”

Brad is the author of BIM and Construction Management: Proven Tools, Methods and Workflows, and Constructech Commercial magazine features him in a quarterly column called “A BIM Point of View.” He is a LEED-accredited architect and works locally with the Associated General Contractors, Lean Construction Institute, and area universities.
