As several companies face the challenge of differentiating themselves from the competition, many have made the decision to create a BIM (building information modeling) department. As these departments are formed, a common mistake is to think that BIM simply constitutes software. Some companies take this notion forward by hiring computer-savvy people with little construction knowledge. For the successful creation of a department, one must realize that BIM is more of a process than software.
