In 2011, Jeff Brannen joined Balfour Beatty Construction as senior vice president and chief legal officer for two of its Texas divisions, formerly known as Charter Builders and SpawMaxwell. In this role, Brannen supports the division’s legal needs, including those related to construction contracts, claims, and negotiations. A graduate of Baylor University and a member of the State Bar of Texas, since 1994 Brannen has worked for law firms specializing in the construction industry. Committed to his community, Brannen served, pro bono, since 1996 as outside general counsel to PediPlace, Inc., a non-profit pediatric clinic, and currently serves on their board of directors. He also assisted The Teen Center, Inc., a drug-free and alcohol-free environment for teens, as its pro bono outside general counsel.
In June 2011, Jeff was elected to the governing council of the Construction Law section of the State Bar of Texas, and in December 2011 he was selected to be Chairman of the Construction Law section of the Dallas Bar Association. In addition, he was named "Chair Elect" of PediPlace, Inc. for 2012, which means he will serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors for 2013.
