Hal started his career in the commercial banking industry. He spent seven years as a commercial real estate lender for Nationsbank and The Anchor Bank and was responsible for client relationship building, as well as the underwriting of complex financing instruments on income producing properties. He left the industry in 1996 as a Vice President. Hal spent two years as a Managing Partner of a development group and was responsible for the overall development efforts on over $35 million of commercial real estate. Routh has been in the commercial construction industry for 12 years. In his current role as Vice President of Business Development for Balfour Beatty Construction, Hal’s role is to cultivate client relationships and offer solutions that meet the client's project needs. Hal is very adept in all delivery methods of construction and was very involved in the first public Construction Management at Risk projects in North Carolina.He has a Bachelors degree in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. When he's not working, Hal can be found coaching youth baseball. He and his wife, two sons, and daughter reside in Fuquay Varina, NC.
