More than 200 volunteers joined Balfour Beatty Construction teams on Saturday, May 14, 2011 to repair and spruce up 10 schools in the Torrance and Redondo Beach school districts as part of Los Angeles County's 8th annual Sharefest Workday. Projects included small construction jobs such as building tables, benches, and planter boxes, repairing irrigation systems, painting, and cleanup.

Operation Homefront: Project Home Improvement
September 26, 2011
In April, employees, friends, family members, and subcontractors poured their hearts, time, and talents into giving back to the br4ave men and women who serve our country in a program called "Project Home Improvement." Working with Operation Homefront (OHF) -- an organization that provides emergency support and morale to our troops -- the project provided support to six families to complete home improvement jobs ranging from yard work and sprinkler system repairs to plumbing, painting, and electrical repairs.
Ronald McDonald House of San Diego and Imperial Counties
September 23, 2011
We provided construction management multi-prime services to construct a new 47-bedroom Ronald McDonald House for Ronald McDonald Charities of San Diego. The $12.8 million facility was constructed at cost and built on top of a six-story parking structure adjacent to Rady Children's Hospital. Thanks to a team effort, labor and materials valued at nearly $3 million were donated. Designed and constructed to green standards, the building uses 17.5 percent less energy than a similar-sized building in California.
Salvation Army Angel Tree
November 22, 2010
Each year, Balfour Beatty Construction decorates our office Christmas trees with gift requests from needy children and adults. Employees enjoy stripping the cards from the trees and shopping and providing holiday gifts and cheer for others. After the trees are bare, we decorate them in the usual holiday mode, and it's fun to see which trees empty first!
