HEALTH AND WELLNESS

Medical Plans
You have choices when it comes to medical care. Select from one of three premier National PPO plans through BlueCross BlueShield.
Prescription Drug Benefits
All medical plans offer prescription drug benefits administered by Prime Therapeutics, through BlueCross BlueShield, at no additional cost to you.
Dental Plan
Dental Coverage is provided through the MetLife Preferred Dentist Program. The plan covers preventative, basic, major, and orthodontic services.
Flexible Spending Accounts
Cut your tax bill with the Health Care and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts. These money–savers let you set aside pre–tax dollars from your paycheck to pay for eligible healthcare or dependent daycare expenses. In many cases, this means savings of 15% to 30%! You can put in $2,500 each year for healthcare expenses and up to $5,000 per year for eligible dependent care expenses ($2,500 if you and your spouse file separate tax returns).
Health Savings Account
If you elect the Consumer Driven Health Plan, you will receive a company-funded Health Savings Account. For employee-only plans, Balfour Beatty Construction contributes $1,000. For plans with dependents, Balfour Beatty Construction contributes $2,000. You can also add your own contributions to save money tax-free.

Vision Care
Vision exams are available through your selected medical plan and are limited to one routine eye exam per covered individual each year. Balfour Beatty Construction offers regular full-time employees a choice of purchasing vision coverage for themselves and their eligible dependents through Davis Vision.
 

TIME AWAY FROM WORK

Vacation
Take time to recharge with paid vacation. Based on your length of service, you may receive two to four weeks of vacation.

Other Types of Leave
Balfour Beatty Construction also offers other types of leave, including sick days, bereavement, jury duty, Family and Medical Leave (FMLA), military leave, and eight paid national holidays.

To give you peace of mind, Balfour Beatty Construction offers:
Company–Paid Protection

  • Basic Term Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage
  • Long–term Disability (payable after six months of total and continuous disability)
  • Short–term Disability (benefits vary by length of service)

Additional Protection (optional; available for employees to purchase)

  • Supplemental Term Life Insurance/AD&D for yourself
  • Dependent Term Life Insurance for your family
  • Voluntary AD&D for you and your family

PROFIT SHARING AND RETIREMENT

The company helps you save for the future with the Profit Sharing and Retirement Plan of Balfour Beatty Construction.

401(k) Plan
At the start of the quarter following Date of Hire, eligible participants can participate in the 401(k). You can make pre–tax contributions of up to 70% (subject to IRS limits) and save up to 10% of your after–tax pay.

Profit Sharing
If eligible, employer profit sharing participation begins the first day of the month following 12 consecutive months of active, full–time service. Each year, depending upon company profits, Balfour Beatty Construction may offer a discretionary profit sharing contribution. You receive these contributions automatically – you aren’t required to contribute to your account. Each year, you become vested in a portion of these contributions until you are fully vested after three years.

MORE FOR YOU

401(k) Match

Balfour Beatty Construction will match 100% of your first 3% of eligible contributions. For the next 2%, the company will match 50% of that amount up to 5%. The match contributions are automatically 100% vested.
