Balfour Beatty Construction has been a Central Florida builder since 1963. Our roots date back even earlier to 1933 when Frank J. Rooney started a small construction company in Miami. Opportunity led us to the Orlando area in the early 1960s. Through the decades, Balfour Beatty Construction has made a vital contribution to Central Florida’s growth and has remained committed to the communities that we work and live in. Mike Wood, Florida’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer has been with Balfour Beatty Construction since 1974, his entire career. Balfour Beatty Construction has a solid foundation of employees with industry leading talent who have contributed to our organization for an average tenure of 10 years.
Our people by far are our most valuable asset. They have contributed to our success in industries such as criminal justice, hospitality, public assembly, transportation, government, education and multi-unit residential. In addition, since 1999 over 60 projects have earned Excellence in Construction awards from Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. We’ve also received awards for Excellence in Safety, Business Partner of the Year, Best Large Companies to Work For and have been recognized by the National Arbor Day Foundation.
